Citibank Still Offering 0% Balance Transfers for Life
There are currently two Citibank Diamond Preferred Credit Cards that are offering 0% balance transfers where the 0% never expires -- the BT stays at 0% forever. There are catches with each of the cards, however. Offer code F1K6 requires you to have a $50 purchase every month after to extend the 0% until the card is paid in full, and offer code F1K7 requires you to have two purchases every month after to extend 0% until the card is paid in full. Still, both these offers may be worth it for certain consumers. Both offers can be applied for here -- just enter in offer code F1K6 or F1K7.
Free iPod at Bank Midwest Continues
As mentioned last month, Bank Midwest is offering a free iPod Shuffle to anyone who opens a new free checking account with a Visa debit card. You do need to fund this account with $2000 or more to start, and it requires having direct deposit from your employer. Surprisingly, they say that you'll receive the iPod Shuffle only one or two weeks after opening the account, which is an incredibly short time period for this type of promotion. For more information on this iPod promotion, click here.

5% Capital One Checking Account -- Texas only
Since Capital One is such a large local presence, I wanted to mention this even though it's not pertinent in the Richmond area: Capital One's "High Interest! Free Checking" is offering a 5.00% APY on their checking accounts in Texas. This 5.00% APY is guaranteed for 12 months after opening the checking account. They will also automatically reimburse any fee assessed at any ATM within 5 business days. It only requires a $50 minimum deposit, and unlike some other checking account deals, it does not require direct deposit. It's enough to make you wish that Capital One had a banking presence in Virginia, but still, let your friends in Texas know about this deal.

A reminder for those who work at RIC or other nearby airports: American Airlines Credit Union is offering a 7.00% APY 12-month CD through the end of April. A checking account with direct deposit at AACU is required, and the maximum you can put in the CD is $7000. For more information about this deal, click here.
$100 Checking Account Bonus Continues at Bank of America
Bank of America still has a $100 checking account bonus for customers who also have a Bank of America credit card. It's for the BoA MyAccess checking account, and you need to use offer code CH100CTA to get your $100 bonus. For more information or to sign up for the account, click here.
